Bournemouth Airport Map & Terminal Guide 2026
One compact terminal, no shuttle buses, 34 routes across Europe and North Africa. Everything you need to navigate Bournemouth Airport (BOH) — southern England’s fastest-growing regional gateway.
Bournemouth Airport Map
The Bournemouth Airport map below shows the full layout of BOH (ICAO: EGHH), located in Hurn, Dorset, about 4 miles northeast of Bournemouth town centre. The airport handles all arrivals and departures through a single, compact terminal, meaning there are no inter-terminal transfers or shuttle buses to worry about. Between April and October 2025 the airport recorded its busiest summer ever, with 1,084,629 passengers passing through — a 28% year-on-year increase driven by the arrival of Jet2.com and a major £17 million infrastructure upgrade.
As the Bournemouth Airport map shows, the terminal building is straightforward: check-in on the ground floor, security leading into an airside departure lounge, and boarding gates running along the airside apron. The arrivals section sits on the north side of the complex, separated from departures. Study the BOH airport map before you travel so you know where to drop off, park and head straight through.

Bournemouth Airport Terminal
Bournemouth Airport operates a single terminal building. The departure process flows from left to right as you enter: check-in desks across the ground floor, security screening in the centre of the building, then the airside departure lounge with duty-free, food and beverage outlets, and a row of departure gates. The compact layout means most passengers can get from check-in to their gate in well under 20 minutes outside of peak periods.
Departures
The check-in hall occupies the ground floor of the southern side of the terminal. Airlines use a shared check-in infrastructure with desks allocated by flight. Beyond check-in is the single security checkpoint, which has been upgraded with next-generation screening equipment. Passengers no longer need to remove liquids or laptops from their hand luggage at BOH — a meaningful time saver. Fast Track security is available to pre-book for priority access. Once through security, the airside departure lounge contains a World Duty Free store, the Airport Pantry food outlet, a bar, WHSmith, and gaming facilities. The departure gates are arranged along the airside apron.
Arrivals
The arrivals section sits on the north side of the terminal and was substantially upgraded as part of the £17 million development programme. A new arrivals hall opened in October 2025, providing a more spacious and efficient welcome for arriving passengers, along with a new baggage reclaim hall with larger carousels. After collecting bags, passengers exit directly to the ground-level roadway where taxis and car park shuttles pick up. Car Park 3 is less than a 2-minute walk from the arrivals hall.
Bournemouth Airport Security
Bournemouth Airport has a single TSA-equivalent UK security checkpoint, which is located in the centre of the terminal building between the check-in hall and the departure lounge. The airport completed the installation of next-generation CT-style security scanners in 2025. As a result, passengers departing from BOH no longer need to remove liquids from hand luggage, and laptops can remain in bags. Containers of up to 2,000ml are permitted. Note that many destination airports have not yet adopted the same technology, so restrictions may apply on the return leg.
Airlines at Bournemouth Airport
In 2026 Bournemouth Airport is served by four main passenger airlines, with Ryanair as the largest operator at around 39% of all routes. Jet2 and Jet2holidays made their debut at BOH in February 2024 and have grown rapidly since, adding multiple destinations each season. TUI Airways provides holiday charter services, particularly to Mediterranean and Canary Islands destinations. easyJet operates a seasonal service to Geneva.
Ryanair operates Boeing 737 aircraft on all routes from BOH. Most services run year-round, with higher frequency in summer. The 2026 schedule represents Ryanair’s largest-ever programme from Bournemouth.
Jet2 launched at BOH in February 2024 and has expanded significantly. Alicante, Faro and Palma are core year-round routes. Jet2holidays packages are available on most routes.
TUI operates from BOH on a seasonal basis, with most services running from May through October. Flights are typically sold as package holidays via TUI.co.uk.
Getting to Bournemouth Airport
Bournemouth Airport does not have its own railway station. The most reliable way to reach BOH is by car or taxi. The MoreBus 737 provides the only public bus link but runs Monday to Friday only, making it impractical for most early-morning and weekend departures.
Bournemouth Airport Parking
All official car parks at Bournemouth Airport are within walking distance of the terminal — no shuttle buses are needed. Pre-book at bournemouthairport.com to secure the best rates, particularly in peak summer. All car parks use ANPR (automatic number plate recognition) entry and exit barriers, and all are Park Mark police-accredited with CCTV and security patrols.
Bournemouth Airport Map — Arrivals
Arriving passengers deplane on the apron and walk or take steps into the terminal building. After passport control (where applicable) and baggage reclaim, they exit into the new arrivals hall on the north side of the terminal. The new hall opened in October 2025 and features expanded baggage carousels with faster turnaround. Taxis wait on the outer curbside. Car Park 3 is directly across from the arrivals exit. There is no airside connection between domestic and international — all passengers exit through the same arrivals hall.
Meeting a Passenger
The best option for meeting arriving passengers is Car Park 3 Passenger Pick Up, which allows up to 90 minutes of parking for £6 when pre-booked. This car park is under a 2-minute walk from the arrivals exit. Alternatively, passengers can be met in the arrivals hall itself with no charge, as long as you are not driving a vehicle onto the airport road.
Bournemouth Airport Map — Departures
Departing passengers should arrive at the terminal building and proceed to the check-in desks for their airline. Self-service bag drop is available for most carriers. After check-in, proceed to the central security checkpoint. Once airside, the departure lounge contains food and drink, duty-free shopping and departure gate information boards. Gate numbers are displayed on the overhead screens once available, usually 45–60 minutes before departure. BOH is compact enough that even the furthest gate is only a few minutes’ walk from security.
Recommended Arrival Times
Allow 90 minutes before departure in summer (May to October), especially on Saturdays when multiple charter and low-cost flights depart in quick succession. In quieter months, 60 minutes is usually sufficient. Check-in typically closes 40 minutes before departure for Ryanair, Jet2 and TUI. Confirm your airline’s specific cut-off time when booking.
Insider Tips
BOH is one of the easiest airports in the UK to navigate — the single terminal means there is no risk of ending up in the wrong building. The upgraded security scanners are genuinely faster than at many larger UK airports, so arrival times do not need to be as generous as at Heathrow or Gatwick. The MoreBus 737 only runs Mon–Fri, so weekend travellers should plan on driving or taking a taxi. Parking is walkable from all car parks, which is a major practical advantage over larger regional airports. Pre-booking parking well in advance saves significant money in peak summer. If someone is dropping you off, be aware that ANPR cameras enforce the drop-off charge on the approach road — use the designated paid zones or the lay-by on Hurn Court Lane outside the airport boundary.
