Moving Between Concourses on the Cincinnati Airport Map

Both Concourses A and B are island concourses — they are separated from the main terminal and from each other. The underground transportation hall connects all three buildings. After clearing the single security checkpoint in the main terminal, passengers can ride the people mover (arriving approximately every 90 seconds) or walk via the moving walkways. The full journey from the terminal to the far end of either concourse takes about 4 minutes by people mover or under 8 minutes on foot.

Connection Times Between Concourses

If you need to transfer between Concourses A and B for a connecting flight, you do not need to re-clear security — both concourses are within the secure zone. The people mover connects the terminal to both concourses, so you can ride from one concourse back to the terminal station and then onward to the other concourse. The moving walkway between Concourse A (near gate A8) and Concourse B (near gate B16) takes approximately 5 minutes on foot. Allow at least 20–30 minutes for connections between concourses to account for walking time and any gate changes.

Cincinnati Airport Map — Arrivals

If you are arriving at Cincinnati Airport or meeting a passenger, the arrivals area is on Level 2 of the main terminal. After landing, passengers ride the underground people mover from their concourse back to the terminal and proceed upstairs to baggage claim. International arrivals on Concourse B must clear U.S. Customs and Border Protection before boarding the people mover to the terminal.

Ground Transportation from Arrivals

Four baggage claim carousels are on Level 2 — two on each side of the terminal. From baggage claim, exit east for taxis, ride-shares and the TANK bus (Ground Transport East, near carousel 4) or exit west for hotel shuttles and rental cars (Ground Transport West). If picking someone up by car, wait in the free cell phone lot on Loomis Road and collect your passenger from the arrivals kerb.

Cincinnati Airport Map — Departures

Departing passengers should enter the main terminal on Level 3 via curbside drop-off or the Terminal Garage walkway. Check in at your airline’s ticket counter on the east or west side, then walk across the pedestrian bridge to the single security checkpoint at the south end of Level 3. After clearing security, descend to the underground transportation hall and ride the people mover or walk to Concourse A or B.

Recommended Arrival Times

CVG recommends arriving at the TSA checkpoint at least two hours before domestic flights and three hours before international departures. Some airlines do not begin checking bags until two hours before departure, so very early arrivals may need to wait. Check your gate assignment on the flight information screens in the terminal or on your airline’s app.

Insider Tips

CVG is consistently rated one of the easiest airports to navigate in the U.S. — it won Best Regional Airport in North America for 2026. Security wait times rarely exceed 20 minutes, but mornings and holiday periods can be busier. Download the free GoodMaps app for turn-by-turn indoor navigation in 25+ languages. Skyline Chili in Concourse B is the go-to local food stop. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the terminal, baggage claim and gates. If you’re driving, note that CVG is in Kentucky — watch for the I-275 Exit 4 signs and remember the Brent Spence Bridge can be congested during rush hour.
