Cleveland Airport Location Map
Cleveland Hopkins International Airport is located 9 miles (14 km) southwest of downtown Cleveland in the Hopkins neighbourhood. The Cleveland Airport location map below shows CLE’s position relative to the city. The airport is accessed via Interstate 71 from the south and I-480 from the east, both connecting to the airport’s main entrance on Riverside Drive.

Cleveland Airport Terminal — Main Terminal
Cleveland Hopkins has a single two-level terminal building completed in 1978 and renovated in 2016. The Cleveland Airport terminal handles all check-in, security screening, baggage claim and ground transportation. Three concourses (A, B and C) branch directly from the main terminal building, all connected airside.

Cleveland Airport Security Checkpoints
Cleveland Airport has three security checkpoints on the upper (ticketing) level of the main terminal, one serving each concourse. After clearing any checkpoint, you enter the connected airside area and can walk freely to all three concourses without re-screening.
Walking Between Concourses
Cleveland Airport Concourse A
Cleveland Airport Concourse A is located at the north end of the terminal. It handles all international arrivals (with Federal Inspection Services near gate A5) and domestic flights for Frontier Airlines. As shown on the Cleveland Airport map, it is the first concourse to the left after entering the terminal.
All international flights are processed through Concourse A, including the Aer Lingus service to Dublin. Frontier Airlines operates the majority of gates here. Charging stations and massage chairs are located near gate A2.
Cleveland Airport Concourse B
Cleveland Airport Concourse B is centrally located, directly ahead from the main terminal entrance. It is the smallest concourse with 11 gates and sits between Concourses A and C, making it the quickest to reach from any security checkpoint.
The main food court is directly in front of Concourse B, making it the best spot for pre-flight dining. The Club CLE lounge is near the concourse entrance, open to members and day-pass holders regardless of airline.
Cleveland Airport Concourse C
Cleveland Airport Concourse C is the largest concourse with 23 gates, located at the south end of the terminal. It is home to United Airlines (CLE’s largest carrier by passenger volume), American Airlines, JetBlue, Air Canada and Alaska Airlines.
Concourse C has the most gates and two food court areas — one central and one at the far end. The United Club is located near gate C14. New for 2026: JetBlue daily service to JFK (from March 30) and American daily service to LAX (from April 7).

All ground transportation is accessed from the lower (arrivals) level of the main terminal.

Cleveland Airport Map — Arrivals
If you are arriving at Cleveland Airport or meeting a passenger, the arrivals area is on the lower level of the main terminal. After landing, passengers walk from their concourse through the connected airside area back to the main terminal and descend to the lower level for baggage claim. International arrivals are processed through U.S. Customs and Border Protection in Concourse A before entering the terminal.
Ground Transportation from Arrivals
Baggage claim carousels are on the lower level. From there you can access the RTA Red Line station (beneath the terminal — take elevators or escalators near the centre of the terminal), taxis (south end of baggage claim), ride-share pick-up (across from the terminal), rental car shuttles (north end of the ground transportation area) and the parking garage skywalk.

Departing passengers should enter the main terminal on the upper (ticketing) level via curbside drop-off or the parking garage walkways. Check in at your airline’s ticket counter, then proceed to the nearest security checkpoint — North (for Concourse A), Central (for Concourse B) or South (for Concourse C). After clearing security, walk directly into the concourse area and follow signs to your gate.
Recommended Arrival Times
Arrive at least 90 minutes before domestic flights and two hours before international flights. During peak hours (4–8 a.m. weekdays), allow extra time for security. Check-in counters typically close 45–60 minutes before departure. Gate assignments are displayed on flight information screens throughout the terminal and on your airline’s app.
Insider Tips
CLE is a compact, walkable airport — do not stress about tight connections. All concourses are airside-connected, so you never need to re-clear security for a connecting flight. Allow 15–20 minutes for connections between far-end gates on different concourses. The RTA Red Line is the cheapest and often fastest way downtown ($2.50, no traffic).
