Denver Airport Map & Terminal Guide 2026
One terminal, three concourses, 169 gates. Everything you need to navigate Denver International Airport (DEN) — the Jeppesen Terminal, Concourses A, B and C, Level 6 security, Denver airport parking and transport.
Denver Airport Map
The Denver Airport map below shows the full layout of Denver International Airport (DEN/KDEN) — known locally as DIA. DEN set an all-time passenger record in 2025 with 82,427,962 travellers, making it the fourth-busiest in the United States and tenth-busiest worldwide. It is a major hub for United Airlines, Southwest Airlines and Frontier Airlines, with 27+ carriers serving over 234 non-stop destinations.
As you can see on the Denver Airport map, the layout is straightforward: one main terminal (the Jeppesen Terminal) connected to three airside concourses (A, B and C) via a free underground train running 24/7. Study the DEN airport map before you travel so you know which concourse your airline uses.

Denver Airport Location Map
Denver International Airport is located 25 miles (40 km) northeast of downtown Denver. The Denver Airport location map below shows DEN’s position relative to the city and surrounding road network. The airport is accessed via Peña Boulevard, connecting to Interstate 70 (downtown and ski corridor) and E-470 (toll bypass to southern suburbs and Colorado Springs). DEN occupies 53 square miles — the largest commercial airport by land area in North America.
Denver Airport Terminal — Jeppesen Terminal
The Jeppesen Terminal is the sole landside building at Denver International Airport, spanning six levels and 2.6 million square feet. The Denver airport terminal handles all check-in, security, baggage claim and ground transportation, divided into east and west sides with separate ticket counters, parking garages and roadway access. The terminal is named after aviation safety pioneer Elrey Borge Jeppesen.
Jeppesen Terminal Levels
Denver Airport Security Checkpoints
All Denver airport security is on Level 6 of the Jeppesen Terminal. The old Level 5 checkpoints are permanently closed. Two state-of-the-art checkpoints — East Security and West Security — each have 17 lanes with TSA PreCheck and CLEAR. Neither requires removing laptops or liquids from bags.
AGTS Underground Train to Gates
Denver Airport Concourse A
Denver Airport Concourse A is the international gateway, reachable by train or on foot via the A-Bridge. As shown on the Denver Airport map, it sits closest to the Jeppesen Terminal. All international flights arrive and depart from Concourse A, which includes widebody-capable gates for aircraft up to A380 size. Lufthansa operated daily A380 service from DEN to Munich in summer 2025.
All international flights go through Concourse A, including widebody gates for A380-size aircraft. The A-Bridge walkway takes ~5 minutes with moving walkways and offers mountain views. Nursing room located opposite gate A49.
Denver Airport Concourse B — United Airlines Hub
Denver Airport Concourse B is United Airlines’ exclusive hub — the airline’s second-largest operation by seat count. United served a record 41.4 million passengers through DEN in 2025 across 74 gates. Train access only — second stop, ~4 minutes from the terminal. At 4,244 feet (0.8 miles) long, it is the longest concourse at DEN.
Gates B80–B92 can be a 12–16 min walk from the train station. Moving walkways begin after the centre-core retail area. Allow extra time for far-end gates. Nursing room near gate B20.
Denver Airport Concourse C — Southwest Airlines Hub
Denver Airport Concourse C is the furthest concourse (train only, third stop, ~6 min). Southwest operates 40 of 44 gates — its largest gate count at any US airport. A $700 million C-West expansion adding 11 new gates was approved by Denver City Council in December 2025.
Commuter airlines Boutique Air and Denver Air Connection operate from the ramp-level commuter facility below gates C66–C67, providing service to small communities across the Great Plains and Rocky Mountains.
Walking Between Concourses on the Denver Airport Map
Unlike many airports, you cannot walk freely between concourses at Denver Airport. The three concourses are separate airside buildings connected only by the underground AGTS train, which runs 24 hours a day with departures approximately every two minutes. The one exception is Concourse A, which can be reached on foot from the Jeppesen Terminal via the A-Bridge pedestrian walkway on Level 6.
Connection Times Between Concourses
After clearing security on Level 6, take the escalator or elevator down to Level 4 to board the train. The stops are: Concourse A (first stop, ~2 minutes), Concourse B (second stop, ~4 minutes) and Concourse C (third and final stop, ~6 minutes). If you need to transfer between concourses for a connecting flight, you do not need to re-clear security — the train operates entirely within the secure zone. Allow at least 30 minutes for connections between far-end gates on different concourses, as Concourse B alone is 0.8 miles long.
Getting to Denver Airport
All public transport departs from the DEN Transit Center on Level 5 of the Jeppesen Terminal, accessible via escalator or elevator from the south end.
Denver Airport Parking
Pre-book Denver airport parking at flydenver.com for savings and guaranteed availability. Cash payments accepted at Level 5 kiosks only (doors 506–509).
Denver Airport Map — Arrivals
If you are arriving at Denver Airport or meeting a passenger, the arrivals area is on Level 5 of the Jeppesen Terminal. After landing, passengers take the underground train from their concourse back to the terminal, ride the escalator up to Level 5, and proceed to baggage claim. International arrivals go through U.S. Customs and Border Protection in Concourse A before boarding the train. International passengers connecting to a domestic flight must clear customs, recheck bags, and re-clear security.
Ground Transportation from Arrivals
Baggage claim carousels are on both the east and west sides of Level 5 (carousels 1–9 east, 10–19 west). From there, you can access taxis and ride-shares (island 5), the RTD A Line rail station (beneath the Westin Hotel), rental car shuttles, and the parking garage walkways. Hotel shuttles pick up at island 3, outside doors 505–507 (east) and 510–512 (west). If picking someone up by car, use the free cell phone waiting lot on Peña Boulevard and collect your passenger from the Level 4 pick-up lanes.
Denver Airport Map — Departures
Departing passengers should enter the Jeppesen Terminal on Level 6 via curbside drop-off or the parking garage walkways. Even-numbered doors are on the west side, odd-numbered on the east. Check in at your airline’s ticket counter (east or west side), then proceed to the East or West security checkpoint — also on Level 6. After clearing security, take the escalator down to Level 4 and board the underground train to your concourse (A, B or C). If departing from Concourse A, you can also walk directly via the A-Bridge from Level 6.
Recommended Arrival Times
Arrive at least two hours before domestic flights and three hours before international flights. Check-in counters and bag drop desks typically close 45–60 minutes before departure. Gate assignments are displayed on the flight information screens throughout the Jeppesen Terminal and on your airline’s app. Download the free FlyDEN app for interactive maps and real-time security wait times.
Insider Tips
Denver sits at 5,434 feet — dehydration hits faster and alcohol hits harder than at sea level. Drink water. Arrive 2+ hours before domestic, 3+ hours before international. Peak security: 4–8 a.m. Refer to the Denver Airport map above to plan your route. For ski trips, many resorts offer direct shuttles from DEN. Renting a car in winter? Four-wheel-drive recommended — Colorado’s traction law is enforced on I-70 mountain passes. Peña Boulevard and I-70 can experience heavy traffic on Friday afternoons (ski traffic) and Sunday evenings (return traffic).
