Indianapolis Airport Map
The Indianapolis Airport map below shows the full layout of Indianapolis International Airport (IND/KIND). IND set a passenger record in 2025 with 10.6 million travellers, and it is the busiest airport in Indiana. An eight-time J.D. Power award winner for customer satisfaction, IND serves over 55 nonstop destinations on 11 airlines including Delta, Southwest, American, United, Frontier and Aer Lingus.
As you can see on the Indianapolis Airport map, the layout is simple: one terminal (the Col. H. Weir Cook Terminal) with two concourses (A and B) branching from a central Civic Plaza. Unlike many larger airports, you walk between concourses — no train or shuttle needed. Study the IND airport map before you travel so you know which concourse and checkpoint to use.

Indianapolis Airport Terminal — Col. H. Weir Cook Terminal
The Col. H. Weir Cook Terminal is the sole passenger building at Indianapolis International Airport. Opened in 2008, it was one of the first U.S. terminals designed from the ground up after September 11, with security integrated into the layout. The terminal is organized around the Civic Plaza, a large central gathering space with restaurants, shops and ticket counters, from which Concourses A and B extend to the south and north respectively.
Terminal Levels
Indianapolis Airport Security Checkpoints
Indianapolis Airport has two TSA security checkpoints on the Departures level (Level 2), one on each side of the Civic Plaza. Both checkpoints provide access to all gates in both concourses via the post-security concourse connector hallway. TSA PreCheck is available at Checkpoint A.
Walking Between Concourses
Indianapolis Airport Concourse A
Indianapolis Airport Concourse A extends south from the Civic Plaza and handles both domestic and all international flights. As shown on the Indianapolis Airport map, it has 20 gates and is home to Delta Air Lines, the airport’s largest carrier.
All international flights, including the transatlantic Aer Lingus service to Dublin, depart from and arrive at Concourse A. U.S. Customs and Border Protection is located in the international arrivals area on Level 1. Moving walkways assist with the walk to higher-numbered gates.
Indianapolis Airport Concourse B
Indianapolis Airport Concourse B extends north from the Civic Plaza and primarily serves domestic flights. It has 19 gates and is home to Southwest Airlines, American Airlines, Alaska Airlines and Allegiant Air.
Concourse B has IND’s strongest selection of dining, including the locally famous St. Elmo shrimp cocktail at HC Tavern. Priority Pass members get $28 credit at The Fan Zone near gate B17. The USO Lounge (7 a.m.–11 p.m.) is free for active military and families.

Indianapolis Airport Map — Arrivals
If you are arriving at Indianapolis Airport or meeting a passenger, the arrivals area is on Level 1 of the Col. H. Weir Cook Terminal. After landing, passengers walk from their gate through the concourse, pass through the Civic Plaza, and proceed down to Level 1 for baggage claim. International arrivals clear U.S. Customs in Concourse A before reaching the main baggage claim hall.
Ground Transportation from Arrivals
Baggage claim carousels are on Level 1. From there, exit to find taxis curbside, the Ground Transportation Center for ride-shares and rental cars, and the pedestrian bridge to the Terminal Garage. If picking someone up by car, use the free cell phone waiting lot on Col. H. Weir Cook Memorial Drive and collect your passenger at the Level 1 curbside pick-up.
Indianapolis Airport Map — Departures
Departing passengers enter on Level 2 via curbside drop-off or the pedestrian bridge from the Terminal Garage. Check in at your airline’s ticket counter in the Civic Plaza, then proceed to Checkpoint A or Checkpoint B. Once through security, walk to your gate in Concourse A or B. If your gate is in the opposite concourse, use the post-security connector hallway.
Recommended Arrival Times
Arrive at least 90 minutes before domestic flights and two to three hours before international flights. IND is compact and security is typically efficient, but mornings between 5 and 8 a.m. can be busy. Check-in counters generally close 45 minutes before departure. Gate assignments are displayed on screens throughout the Civic Plaza and on your airline’s app.
Insider Tips
IND is consistently rated one of the best mid-size airports in the U.S. for a reason — it is clean, compact and well-designed. Free Wi-Fi (select “IND_PUBLIC_WIFI”) is reportedly 8–10 times faster than most U.S. airports. Don’t miss Harry & Izzy’s in Concourse A for the famous St. Elmo shrimp cocktail. The airport has a meditation room, a barbershop, a walking path and children’s play areas in both concourses. Refer to the Indianapolis Airport map above to plan your route. Fun fact: IND is home to the world’s largest airport solar farm — a 22 MW installation with nearly 88,000 panels.
