Leeds Bradford Airport Map

The Leeds Bradford Airport map below shows the full layout of LBA’s single terminal building. The airport sits near Yeadon in West Yorkshire, about 7 miles northwest of Leeds city centre and a similar distance from Bradford. At an elevation of 681 feet, it is the highest commercial airport in England. Despite its compact footprint, LBA handles over 4 million passengers a year across 78 routes, primarily to European and Mediterranean destinations.

As the Leeds Bradford Airport map shows, the layout is straightforward: one terminal building with arrivals on the ground floor and departures on the first floor. Two check-in halls, Hall A and Hall B, divide the ground floor between Jet2 and all other carriers. After clearing security, all passengers share the same departure lounge and gate concourse, so there is no need to rush between separate piers or terminals. Study the LBA airport map before you travel so you know exactly which hall to head for when you arrive.

Leeds Bradford Airport Terminal

Leeds Bradford Airport has a single terminal building that handles all domestic and international departures and arrivals. The terminal operates across two main levels. The ground floor contains both check-in halls, the arrivals hall, baggage reclaim, customs, and car rental desks. The first floor holds the departure lounge with shops, restaurants, bars, duty free, and access to the boarding gates. A separate upper level hosts the airport lounges.

The terminal received a major upgrade as part of the £100 million LBA:REGEN regeneration programme. A new 9,500 square metre three-storey extension opened in June 2025, adding new aircraft stands, expanded seating, faster security lanes, new retail and dining options, and enlarged baggage and immigration areas. Phase two of the programme continued through 2025 and into 2026, covering upgrades to the security hall, check-in area, duty free, and the arrivals experience.

🚧
LBA:REGEN (2025–2026): Phase one of the £100 million terminal regeneration opened in June 2025, adding a new three-storey extension with expanded seating, faster security and new shops and restaurants. Phase two is ongoing through 2026, upgrading check-in, duty free, retail and arrivals. Expect some changes to signage and layouts as works complete. Ground Floor — Check-in and Arrivals

The ground floor is where most journeys at LBA begin and end. On arrival, follow signs for your check-in hall. Hall B is directly opposite the main entrance and is exclusively for Jet2 passengers. Hall A is next to the reflection room and handles check-in for all other airlines. Domestic and international arrivals are also processed on the ground floor, to the left of the building, with baggage reclaim carousels and customs alongside car rental desks and ground transport exits.

First Floor — Departure Lounge and Gates

After clearing security, you move up to the first floor departure lounge. This is a shared airside space used by all passengers regardless of which check-in hall they used. The lounge contains the main retail and dining concession area, duty free, and access to the boarding gates. Gate assignments appear on flight information screens throughout the lounge and on your airline’s app, as they are not typically shown until closer to boarding time.

Leeds Bradford Airport Check-in Halls

The terminal is divided into two check-in halls on the ground floor, separating Jet2 from all other carriers. This is the most important thing to know when navigating the Leeds Bradford Airport map.

Leeds Bradford Airport Security

LBA has two security checkpoints. The main checkpoint is on the ground floor, close to the check-in desks, and is the primary route into the airside departure lounge. A second checkpoint sits within the departure lounge itself and is used to manage passenger flow during busy periods. Both checkpoints have Fast Track lanes available. Fast Track access starts from around £9 per person and can be booked online in advance or purchased at the airport.

Leeds Bradford Airport Map — Arrivals

Arriving passengers at Leeds Bradford Airport deplane and are directed to the arrivals hall on the ground floor of the terminal. Domestic arrivals clear directly into baggage reclaim. International arrivals first pass through passport control and UK Border Force before reaching the baggage carousels and customs hall. Both domestic and international arrivals exit through the same ground floor arrivals area, to the left of the terminal building. Car rental desks, taxi ranks, the FLYER bus stop and ride-share pick-up are all accessible from the arrivals exit.

Leeds Bradford Airport Map — Departures

Departing passengers enter the terminal from the forecourt on the upper level, or from the ground floor main entrance. Identify your check-in hall: Hall B for Jet2, Hall A for all other airlines. Check in and drop your bags on the ground floor, then proceed to security to access the first-floor departure lounge. Boarding usually begins around 45 minutes before departure. Gate numbers appear on the departure lounge screens and on your airline’s app, typically no more than an hour before boarding.

Recommended Arrival Times

Arrive at least 2 hours before domestic flights and 3 hours before international flights. During school holiday periods and peak morning departure banks, allow additional time for check-in and security queues. Most airline check-in desks open approximately 3 hours before departure and close around 45 minutes prior.

Insider Tips for Leeds Bradford Airport

LBA is compact, so walking distances are short once you are inside the terminal. The biggest time risk is security, particularly on summer weekend mornings when multiple aircraft depart in close succession. Fast Track is worth the cost if you are on a tight schedule. If you are flying Jet2, go straight to Hall B and avoid the Hall A queues entirely. The FLYER bus is a reliable and affordable option from Leeds or Bradford, but check the timetable in advance as frequency varies. There is no rail connection to the airport. KLM’s daily Amsterdam service opens up a wide range of onward connections for long-haul travellers who want to avoid the drive to Manchester or London. The airport is at nearly 700 feet, so winter fog and occasional snow can cause delays that lower-altitude airports would not experience. Check weather forecasts and allow extra time in the colder months.
