Nashville Airport Terminal
Nashville International Airport has one terminal building spanning three main levels. The Nashville airport terminal handles all check-in, security, baggage claim and ground transportation. After clearing the single central security checkpoint, all concourses are connected by walkways — no trains or trams needed. The recently completed BNA Vision expansion added a striking Grand Lobby, enlarged security area and a new international arrivals facility.
Terminal Levels
Nashville Airport Security Checkpoint
Nashville Airport has one central security checkpoint located on Level 3 (Departures) in the Grand Lobby. After clearing security, you can walk freely to all concourses — B, C, D and the T Gates — without re-screening. The checkpoint has up to 24 screening lanes and opens daily at 3:30 a.m. CST.
After Security — Walking to Your Gate
Nashville Airport Concourse B
Nashville Airport Concourse B is located on the north side of the terminal. As shown on the Nashville Airport map, it serves Delta Air Lines and United Airlines with 11 gates.
The Delta Sky Club was fully renovated in 2023 and is accessible to Delta premium cabin passengers, SkyMiles members and eligible credit card holders.
Nashville Airport Concourse C — Largest Concourse
Nashville Airport Concourse C is the largest and busiest concourse, located on the south side. It has 18 gates in the main building (C1–C3 and C13–C27) plus 8 additional gates in the C Satellite Concourse (C4–C11), for 26 gates total. A free shuttle bus connects the satellite from near gate C2.
The C Satellite Concourse (gates C4–C11) requires a free shuttle bus ride from near gate C2. Allow an extra 10–15 minutes to reach satellite gates. The satellite has limited food and retail options.
Nashville Airport Concourse D — Southwest Airlines
Nashville Airport Concourse D is used exclusively by Southwest Airlines. The concourse was extended in July 2025 as the first completed project of the New Horizon program, adding five new gates, new concessions and BNA’s first outdoor terrace with views of the Nashville skyline.
The signature “record node” at the end of Concourse D is a rotunda with panoramic views, leading to the outdoor terrace. A moving walkway runs the length of the concourse. Priority Pass holders get one free hour at Minute Suites.
Nashville Airport T Gates — International Flights
The T Gates (T1–T6) sit in the BNA Marketplace, straight ahead after the security checkpoint. They serve international carriers and some domestic overflow flights. International arrivals are processed through the international arrivals facility on Level 1 before passengers enter the main terminal.
The T Gates are the closest gates to security — just a short walk from the checkpoint. Surrounded by the BNA Marketplace shops and restaurants, this is one of the most convenient areas in the airport.
Nashville Airport Concourse A (Closed)
Concourse A is currently closed for a complete demolition and reconstruction as part of the New Horizon expansion. It previously served Delta, United and Alaska Airlines. The new Concourse A is scheduled to reopen on 11 July 2028 with 16 gates, two moving walkways, new concessions, and indoor and outdoor passenger areas — making it BNA’s largest concourse. Airlines that formerly used Concourse A have been relocated to Concourses B and the T Gates during construction.
Walking Between Concourses on the Nashville Airport Map
Unlike many large US airports, Nashville Airport requires no trains, trams or shuttles to move between its main concourses. After clearing the single central security checkpoint on Level 3, you can walk freely to Concourses B, C, D and the T Gates without re-screening. Most gate-to-gate walks take under 10 minutes.
Connection Times Between Concourses
The T Gates are closest to security (1–2 minutes). Concourse B and Concourse C entrances are each roughly 3–5 minutes from the checkpoint in opposite directions. Concourse D is about 5–8 minutes. The far ends of Concourse C (gates C25–C27) can take 8–10 minutes. The C Satellite Concourse (C4–C11) is the only area that requires a shuttle bus — board near gate C2 and add 10–15 minutes. For connecting flights between far-end gates, allow at least 30 minutes.

Nashville Airport Map — Arrivals
If you are arriving at Nashville Airport or meeting a passenger, the arrivals area is on Level 2 of the terminal. After landing, passengers walk from their concourse through the terminal to the baggage claim carousels on Level 2. International arrivals go through US Customs and Border Protection in the international arrivals facility on Level 1 before proceeding to baggage claim.
Ground Transportation from Arrivals
Baggage claim carousels are on Level 2. From there, take the escalator or elevator down to Level 1 for rental cars, taxis, ride-shares and the WeGo bus. If someone is picking you up by car, direct them to the free cell phone waiting lot on Murfreesboro Pike (about 3 miles from the terminal, with real-time flight monitors and 240 spaces) and meet at the curbside pick-up on Level 2.
Nashville Airport Map — Departures
Departing passengers should head to Level 3 via curbside drop-off or the Terminal Garage walkways. Check in at your airline’s ticket counter in the north or south lobby, then proceed to the central security checkpoint — also on Level 3. After clearing security, walk to your concourse: north for B, south for C and D, or straight ahead for the T Gates.
Recommended Arrival Times
Arrive at least two hours before domestic flights and three hours before international flights. North ticketing counters open three hours before the first departure; south ticketing opens two hours before. Gate assignments appear on flight information screens throughout the terminal and on your airline’s app.
Insider Tips
Nashville Airport is one of the few major US airports with live music stages inside the terminal — catch free performances throughout the day in the BNA Marketplace. For hot chicken before your flight, Hattie B’s (Concourse C) and Prince’s (C/D connector) are the real deal. The Hilton BNA is connected directly to the terminal if you need an overnight stay between flights. Peak security hours are 5–8 a.m. weekdays.
