Ontario Airport Map
The Ontario Airport map below shows the full layout of Ontario International Airport (ONT/KONT) — also known locally as LA Ontario Airport. ONT set a passenger record in 2025, welcoming 7.1 million travellers including a record 567,000 international passengers, a 30% year-over-year rise. Ranked No. 2 for mid-size airport satisfaction by J.D. Power in 2025, ONT serves over 30 destinations in the US, Mexico, Central America and Taiwan across two main terminals.
As shown on the Ontario Airport map, the layout is compact and efficient: Terminal 2 and Terminal 4 sit side by side, connected by a covered inter-terminal walkway. A separate International Arrivals Facility handles all inbound customs and border processing. Study the ONT airport map before you travel so you know which terminal your airline uses.

Ontario Airport Terminals Overview
Ontario International Airport has two main passenger terminals — Terminal 2 and Terminal 4 — plus a separate International Arrivals Facility (IAF). Terminal 2 and Terminal 4 each span 265,000 square feet and sit side by side, connected by a covered pedestrian walkway. The IAF is an adjacent building with two arrival-only gates housing U.S. Customs and Border Protection operations.
All departing flights, including international ones, operate from Terminal 2 or Terminal 4. International passengers arrive through the IAF for customs processing before entering the main terminal area.
Ontario Airport Terminal 2
Terminal 2 is the international gateway at Ontario Airport and home to several major domestic carriers. It houses the 3Sixty Duty Free store — the first West Coast airport duty-free operated by that brand — as well as the Aspire Lounge, making it the more internationally oriented of the two terminals.
International departures (Avianca, China Airlines, Volaris) leave from Terminal 2 gates but arrive through the adjacent International Arrivals Facility. The Aspire Lounge (Gate 210) is open 5 a.m.–1 p.m. and 8 p.m.–midnight; accessible with Priority Pass, Amex Platinum/Centurion, or walk-up fee.
Ontario Airport Terminal 4
Terminal 4 is the larger of the two terminals by gate count and handles the bulk of domestic traffic, led by Southwest Airlines. It is home to the expanding Brewery X restaurant (an ONT joint venture), and recently added Chick-fil-A and a California Science Center satellite exhibit.
The Aspire Lounge in Terminal 4 (Gate 410) accepts Priority Pass, Amex, and walk-up guests from any airline. Starlux Airlines operates international flights to Taipei (TPE) from Terminal 4, with arrivals processed at the International Arrivals Facility.
International Arrivals Facility
All international inbound flights arrive here for Customs and Border Protection processing. Carriers using the IAF on arrival include Avianca, China Airlines, Starlux Airlines and Volaris. After clearing customs, passengers proceed to their baggage claim carousel in Terminal 2 or Terminal 4. A USO Lounge is located in the western wing landside area nearby.
ONT was upgraded to a designated Landing Rights Airport by CBP in 2025, meaning CBP now funds its own operations here rather than requiring the airport to cover those costs — improving service levels for international travellers.
Ontario Airport Security
Each terminal has its own TSA security checkpoint. TSA PreCheck and CLEAR kiosks are located to the left of the escalators in both Terminal 2 and Terminal 4. On average, security wait times are under 20 minutes during non-peak hours and can reach 30 minutes or more during busy travel periods.
Getting Between Terminals at Ontario Airport
Terminal 2 and Terminal 4 are connected landside (before security) by a covered pedestrian walkway, so you can move between them freely before you clear security. Once airside, the terminals are separate — there is no post-security connection between T2 and T4. If your connecting flight is in the other terminal, you will need to exit security, walk to the other terminal, and re-clear screening.
A free courtesy shuttle also runs between Terminal 2, Terminal 4 and the Rental Car Center. For connections requiring a terminal change, allow a minimum of 60 minutes given the need to re-clear security.
Getting to Ontario Airport
Ride-share, taxis and buses all operate from curbside in front of each terminal. Ground transportation is located at street level directly outside arrivals.

Ontario Airport Map — Arrivals
If you are arriving at Ontario Airport, the baggage claim carousels are on the lower (ground) level of Terminal 2 or Terminal 4, clearly signed from the gate areas. International arrivals first pass through Customs and Border Protection in the adjacent International Arrivals Facility before proceeding to baggage claim in the main terminal.
Ground Transportation from Arrivals
After collecting your bags, exit to street level for taxis, Uber/Lyft pick-up and hotel shuttles. The rental car shuttle stop is immediately outside each terminal. Cell phone waiting vehicles should be parked in the free lot on John Bangs Drive and proceed to the Level 1 arrivals curb when the passenger is ready. For public transit, OmniTrans Route 61 stops directly outside both terminals every 15 minutes on weekdays.
Ontario Airport Map — Departures
Departing passengers should check their airline’s terminal assignment (T2 or T4) before heading to the airport. Drop-offs are on the upper (departures) level curbside at each terminal. Check in and drop your bags at your airline’s counter, then proceed upstairs to your terminal’s TSA security checkpoint. Gates are numbered in the 200-series (Terminal 2) and 400-series (Terminal 4). Aspire Lounges in both terminals are accessible after security with Priority Pass, qualifying Amex cards or a walk-up day pass.
Recommended Arrival Times
Allow at least two hours before domestic departures and three hours before international flights. During the ongoing TSA expansion, adding an extra 15–20 minutes is advised. Check-in counters and bag drop typically close 45–60 minutes before departure. Gate assignments appear on flight information screens inside both terminals and on your airline’s app.
Insider Tips
ONT is frequently praised as “10 times better than LAX” by travellers — smaller scale means faster security, less traffic and easier parking. Flying to Las Vegas or the California ski resorts? ONT is often cheaper and far less congested than LAX or BUR. The ONT+ Visitor Pass Program lets non-travellers clear security to meet passengers at the gate — free registration at flyontario.com, available until 9 p.m. The Aspire Lounge in T2 or T4 is worth considering for longer waits — Priority Pass or Amex Platinum gets you in at no extra cost. If picking up a passenger, use the free Cell Phone Lot on John Bangs Drive rather than circling the terminal. Ontario sits at 944 feet elevation in the Inland Empire — summer temperatures regularly exceed 100 °F, so stay hydrated.
