Teesside Airport Map
The Teesside Airport map below shows the full layout of Teesside International Airport (MME/EGNV), located near Darlington in County Durham. Also known historically as Durham Tees Valley Airport, the airport returned to its original name in 2019 following a public vote. It recorded over 246,000 passengers in 2025, its highest annual figure in 16 years, and is actively growing its route network into 2026.

Teesside Airport Terminal
Teesside International Airport has a single terminal building that handles all departures, arrivals and baggage. The terminal underwent significant refurbishment in 2017 and again from 2020 onwards, adding a second lounge, new café and bar facilities on both the landside and airside, and reopening areas that had been closed during the airport’s leaner years. The result is a modern, comfortable space where the journey from the entrance to the gate takes only a matter of minutes.
Check-in desks are located in the main hall on entry. After check-in, passengers proceed through the single security checkpoint and into the airside departure lounge, which holds all the airport’s shops, bars and the departure gates. Baggage reclaim for arriving passengers is on the same level, making the whole process straightforward even for first-time travellers.
Landside Facilities (Before Security)
Before passing through security, the landside area offers a Landside Café, the SkyBar, Fairs-Lloyds Travel for holiday bookings and car hire. Baby changing facilities are available in the terminal. The former St George Hotel at the airport is being brought back to life by Ramside Estates, adding an accommodation option right on site for early morning departures.
Airside Facilities (After Security)
Once through security, the airside departure lounge has a strong selection of food, drink and retail for an airport of this size. The Ramside Lounge (formerly the Rockliffe Lounge) is the paid premium lounge available to all passengers regardless of airline. Other airside options include The Middleton restaurant and bar, The Transporter Bar and Kitchen, The Goosepool Bar, World Duty Free, Essentials by Linthorpe Pharmacy and Teesside Boutique.

Getting to Teesside Airport
Teesside International is one of the most accessible regional airports in the UK by car. All major approach roads feed efficiently to the terminal, and the on-site car park means there is no transfer delay once you arrive. Public transport options exist but require a bus leg in most cases.
By Car
Take the A67 directly to the terminal. From the north and east (Middlesbrough, Stockton, Hartlepool) use the A66 then join the A67. From the south and west (Darlington, Leeds, London) use the A1(M) and join the A66 or A67. The airport is signed from all major approach roads.
By Bus
Stagecoach Service 6 and 6A runs approximately once an hour between Stockton-on-Tees High Street North and the airport, passing through Darlington. Check Stagecoach North East for current timetables as services can vary by time of day and day of week.
By Train and Bus
Darlington station is the nearest mainline station, with fast services to London King’s Cross (around 2 hours 15 minutes), Newcastle (around 20 minutes) and Edinburgh. From Darlington station, the Stagecoach 6/6A bus takes approximately 25 to 30 minutes to reach the terminal. Dinsdale station is closer to the airport at around 2 miles, but services are infrequent; a short taxi ride connects Dinsdale to the terminal.
Teesside Airport Parking
Teesside Airport parking is the most convenient of any UK regional airport at this scale. The official car park sits directly opposite the terminal entrance and requires no shuttle bus, no key handover and no waiting. You park your own car, keep your keys and walk straight into the terminal. Pre-book at teessideinternational.com to guarantee a space and pay a lower rate than at the gate.
Teesside Airport Map — Arrivals
Arriving passengers deplane at one of the four gates and walk directly through to baggage reclaim within the terminal building. The process is notably fast compared to larger UK airports. After collecting bags, passengers exit through customs (where applicable) into the arrivals hall. Taxis are immediately outside. The car park is directly opposite with no crossing required via a dedicated pedestrian path. There is no airside transit required between any section of the airport.
Teesside Airport Map — Departures
For departing passengers, the process at Teesside is straightforward. Park in the on-site car park and walk across to the terminal in under a minute. Check in at the counters in the main hall, drop any hold luggage, and proceed to the single security checkpoint. After clearing security, the airside departure lounge has all shops, bars and the four departure gates. Gate numbers are displayed on screens throughout the lounge. Boarding typically begins 30 to 40 minutes before departure.
Recommended Arrival Times
Arrive at least 2 hours before departure for most flights. Check-in counters close 40 to 60 minutes before departure depending on the airline. Because the terminal is compact and queues at security are typically short, the 2 hour window is comfortable rather than rushed. For very early morning departures, some passengers choose to stay at the airport hotel being developed by Ramside Estates on site.
Teesside Airport — News and Development 2026
Teesside International is in an active period of growth. Passenger numbers in 2025 reached their highest level in 16 years. A £200 million Business Park development on the south side of the site is under way, with a new link road already completed.
On the sustainability front, a sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) plant became operational on site in 2025, producing 50,000 litres of pure SAF per month. Capacity is expected to rise to 300,000 litres per month from 2027. Autonomous vehicle trials for passenger and luggage transport are also under way on site in a world-first pilot.
Insider Tips for Teesside Airport
Teesside is one of the least stressful airports in the UK to use, and a few small habits make the experience even smoother. The car park fills quickly on peak summer Saturdays, so pre-booking is genuinely worth doing. Security queues are rare given the airport’s size, but the C3 scanners mean you do not need to prepare your bag in the same way as at other airports: leave your liquids in your bag, leave your laptop where it is. The Ramside Lounge is worth booking for longer waits before early morning flights. If you are connecting onward via Amsterdam with KLM, check your onward flight details before you arrive as the Schiphol hub operates on tight transit windows. Refer to the Teesside Airport map above to plan your route and confirm which gate area you will need.
